# Share a conversation

> Make a public link to a thread: a frozen snapshot or a live one, with or without its files, and how to stop sharing.

Source: https://www.dearjune.ai/docs/chat/sharing

Share a thread with someone who does not use June: you make a link, and anyone who has it can read the conversation in a browser, without signing in.

1. In the thread, choose **Share** at the top, or open the thread menu next to the title and choose **Share**.
2. In **Share this conversation?**, choose **New link**. June copies the link for you.
3. Review whether the link includes attachments and whether it should update, then send it to whoever should read it.

In the mobile app, touch and hold the thread on Home, choose **Share**, then a frozen or a live link.

_Demo: A share link in the dialog: frozen, with its files included._

Before you share a long thread, ask June for a summary to send along with the link:

> Example prompt: Summarize this thread in five lines for someone who was not part of it

## Frozen or live

A new link is frozen: it shows the conversation as it was when you made it, and what you write afterwards stays private. Turn on **Auto-update** to make it live: it then shows the newest messages as the conversation goes on. Turn it off again, and the link freezes at that moment.

A link shows up to the 500 most recent messages, and the title the thread had when you made it.

## Files and images

**Include attachments** is on for a new link, so readers can open the files and images in the thread. Turn it off to share the words only.

## Stop sharing

Choose **Delete** under the link. The link stops working at once; anyone who opens it afterwards finds nothing. A thread can have several links, each with its own settings, so you can delete one without the others. Delete every link you no longer want people to use. This cannot take back text or files someone already copied or downloaded.

## What a reader sees

The messages, the links June cited, and, if you included them, the files and images. A reader does not see June's steps, cannot write in the thread, and the page is kept out of search engines.

## What sharing does not do

- It does not limit who can open the link: anyone who has it can read it.
- It does not let anyone else share your thread: only the person who started it can make or delete its links, in an organization too.
