# Notion

> June reads and adds to the Notion pages and databases you share with it, as you. It comments, edits a block's text or moves something to Trash only when you approve the card.

Connect Notion and June works in the pages and databases you share with it:
it looks things up, files notes, adds rows and fills in their values, acting
as you.

1. On the **Integrations** page, choose **Connect** on the Notion row.
2. Notion asks which pages June may use. Pick them there; June sees those pages and the pages inside them, nothing else.
3. Ask June to look something up or write something down.

> Example prompt: Find the onboarding checklist in Notion and tell me what is still open.

> Example prompt: Add a row to the Leads database for Acme Studio, status New, follow-up date next Friday.

> Example prompt: Append today's meeting notes to the Weekly sync page.

## What June can do

- Search the shared pages and databases by title, and read a page's
  properties and its body.
- Read a database's columns and query its rows with filters and sorting.
- Create a page or a database row, set property values on a row (a status,
a date, a select), and add content to the end of a page. These only add,
so June does them without asking.
- Read the comments on a page or a block.

## Changes you approve

These change or remove what is there, or reach other people, so they follow your
[approval settings](/docs/how-june-works/connections#a-step-that-needs-your-confirmation).
When June asks, it shows a card before anything changes:

- **Comment** on a page or a block, or reply in a comment thread. The card
shows the page and the whole comment.
- **Edit the text of one block**: a paragraph, a heading, a list item, a
to-do, a toggle, a quote, a callout or a code block. The card shows the
text as it is now and the new text. If someone changes the block before
you approve, June changes nothing and reads it again.
- **Move a page to Trash**, a database row included. Notion keeps it in
Trash for 30 days; you can restore it from there.
- **Remove one block** from a page. Notion's Trash lists pages, not blocks:
a removed block comes back through the page's version history.

Moving a page to Trash or removing a block needs your approval every time.
These actions cannot be allowed for a whole chat, schedule or account.

Comments need the **Read comments** and **Insert comments** capabilities on
the June integration in Notion. If they are missing, June says so and
posts nothing; once they are turned on, reconnect Notion.

To share more pages later, or fewer, use the page's Connections menu in
Notion. One connection is one Notion workspace; connect again from the
Notion page on **Integrations** to add another workspace.

## What June does not do

- It never deletes anything for good or removes a database. Removing a
page or block always needs approval for that specific change.
- An edited block keeps its type, but mentions, equations and colours in
its old text become plain text.
- It cannot see pages you did not share with it during Notion’s sign-in or
later. If a page is missing from search, check its Connections menu in
Notion and share it with June, then ask again. Search matches titles,
so give the page’s title or link rather than only a phrase in its body.
- It cannot start a comment on a selected range of text; Notion's API does
  not offer that.
