# ownCloud and Nextcloud

> June reads documents from your ownCloud or Nextcloud server, saves the files it writes back to it, and moves, renames and deletes files there, over WebDAV.

Connect an ownCloud or Nextcloud server and June can fetch past documents
from it to work with, put the files it writes for you back on it, and tidy
your folders: move, rename and delete files.

1. On your server, create an app password (in ownCloud, under Settings, then Security). Use it instead of your account password.
2. On the **Integrations** page, open the ownCloud card and fill in the server URL, your username and the app password. If your server lives under a sub-path, include it, as in `https://example.com/owncloud`.
3. Choose **Test and connect**. June checks the connection once before it saves anything.

> Example prompt: Get last year's offer for Acme from my ownCloud and draft this year's from it.

> Example prompt: Save the finished report to the Reports folder on my ownCloud.

> Example prompt: Move last year's invoices on my ownCloud into an Archive 2025 folder.

## What June can do

- List a folder and download files from your own files on the server.
- Upload files it wrote, creating the folder if it does not exist yet. A
file uploaded under a name that already exists replaces that file, so
name the folder and file when it matters.
- Move or rename a file or a whole folder, creating the target folder if it
does not exist yet. A move never replaces a file that is already there; it
stops and tells you instead. Choose a different destination name, or
move the existing file elsewhere, then ask June to try again.
- Delete a file or a whole folder. June asks you first with a card that
shows the path, whether it is a file or a folder, and its size. A deleted
file goes to the server's trash bin, under Deleted files in ownCloud,
where you can restore it, as long as the server's trash bin is on (it is
  by default).

You can connect several servers, one connection per server; give each its
own connection name and tell June which one to use.

## What June does not do

- It reaches only the files of the account you connected, and never moves
or deletes your whole files folder.
- It does not create share links.
- It uploads and downloads files of up to 4 MB each. Moving has no size
  limit.
- The server must be reachable over HTTPS from the internet; a server only
on your home network or VPN cannot be connected.
- It uses this connection only in your own chats and projects, not in an
  organization's chats ([why](/docs/integrations#personal-or-organization)).
