# Organizations

> A shared space for a team: create one, invite people or let your email domain join, and choose what it connects.

An organization is a shared space for a team. Everyone in it gets the same threads and projects, the integrations everyone uses, and, if an admin sets one, one funding source that pays for every turn there.

- [Working together](/docs/organizations/chats): Shared threads and projects, tagging @june, and whose plan and connections each reply uses.
- [Pay for an organization](/docs/organizations/funding): One funding source that pays for every turn, in place of each member's own plan.

Find your organizations on the **Organizations** page, the first icon at the foot of the sidebar. Before inviting people, check what is in its web and mobile threads and projects: every member can read them. Slack direct messages and private-channel threads have different [visibility rules](/docs/security-and-privacy#who-sees-your-chats).

## Create an organization

1. On the **Organizations** page, choose **New organization**.
2. Give it a name. Add its website if it has one: the site's icon becomes the organization's logo.
3. If you signed in with a work address, you can switch on **Join by email domain** here as well (see below).
4. Choose **Create organization**. You are its first admin.

## Roles

An organization has two roles.

| Role | What they can do |
| :--------- | :---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Admin** | Everything a member can, plus invite and remove people, change roles, edit the website, switch **Join by email domain** on or off, offer custom MCP servers, and [choose what pays for it](/docs/organizations/funding) |
| **Member** | Read and write in every thread and project of the organization, and use its integrations with their own accounts |

You cannot change your own role: another admin changes it for you. An organization always keeps an admin, so until someone else is an admin, the only admin cannot be made a member, be removed or leave.

## Invite people

1. In the organization's Members section, type the person's email address, pick **Member** or **Admin**, and choose **Invite**.
2. Choose **Copy link** on their row and send them the link yourself.
3. They sign in with that same address, and the invitation turns into a membership. The address has to be verified at sign-in.

An invitation does not expire. Until it is accepted, the row shows when you invited them, and **Revoke** takes the invitation back. If someone signs in but does not join, check that they used the invited address and verified it. An admin can invite a former member again.

An organization holds up to 256 people. The count includes pending and revoked invitations and everyone who left or was removed.

## Let your email domain join

With **Join by email domain** on, anyone who signs in with a verified address at your domain sees the organization at the top of their **Organizations** page and can join it with one click, as a member.

- The domain comes from the admin's own verified sign-in address; free email providers cannot be one.
- One domain belongs to one organization.
- Someone who left, or was removed, does not get the offer again.

An admin switches it on or off in the organization's Settings section.

## Integrations in an organization

Your connections from the **Integrations** page work in the organization from its first message, with nothing to reconnect, unless you marked them **Personal only**. To use a different account in this organization only, connect it inside the organization: choose **Use work account** on a row of its Integrations section, or open the link June sends in one of its chats. Your **Integrations** page then lists that connection as only in this organization; it is removed when you leave. Admins can offer custom MCP servers with **Add MCP server**; each member then connects their own login to them in the same section, and an admin removes one with **Remove server** ([Custom MCP servers](/docs/integrations/custom-mcp#use-it-in-an-organization)). [Personal or organization](/docs/integrations#personal-or-organization) has the full rules, including which tools never work in an organization's chats, and [Whose sign-in June uses](/docs/how-june-works/connections) says whose connection runs each reply.

## Leave an organization

In the organization's Settings section, choose **Leave organization**. Its threads and projects close to you right away, and an admin can invite you back.

## What June does not do

- It does not email invitations; you send the link.
- It does not show anyone your personal chats, in any organization.
- It does not let you delete an organization.
